We have all heard of the haunting tales of the werewolf that turns on the full moon…
Do you ever wonder if the moon can actually affect humans?

Lunar phases affecting our moods:
Sadly, it is said by the scientific community that it is a myth to say that the moon affects our moods because there is not enough epidemiological research. But also, scientists once thought that the earth was flat. Things change.
According to the National Library of Medicine (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/), there was a study confirmed that seems to be the beginning of studying how the moon affects our mood. In this study, there were 17 patients with bi-polar disorder. The reason that the study was done with these specific patients, is because these people have a readily identifiable “switch process”. (Their mood shifts very abruptly making it easy to track and examine). These patients were monitored for 37.5 years, and it was found that their moods were in sync with the lunar cycle. Do you think that’s a coincidence?..

Lunar affect on our body:
There is not enough research to support weather or not the moon has an affect on the human body. I’m honestly pretty disappointed… But there are still some interesting studies that have been done on this topic.
There was a study done in 2013, proving that the lunar cycle affected blood pressure by dropping 5mm Hg during new, and full moon phases. Their heart rates and blood pressures were also low during the new and full moons (pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov).

All in all, there really just is not enough research done to prove that the lunar cycle affects our mind and body, sorry folks. But just because it isn’t “proven” yet, doesn’t mean that it is not a possibility…
Did you know that gravity is just a theory?
